Lesha Dickerson, PTA
CEO, Clinic Director
Lesha is a Colorado native and has been working in Pueblo’s medical community for thirteen years. She believes in doing what you love for a living. After ten years marketing and managing in healthcare settings Lesha returned to school to obtain her physical therapist assistant degree so she could take part in caring for patients on a deeper level.
As a 15 year cancer survivor, Lesha is ambitious, motivated and a little adventurous. She believes that all of us should live our lives to the fullest every day. She looks at life as an opportunity with family, friends, and faith as important support beams. Lesha loves spending time with her family. She enjoys the outdoors, and loves hiking, camping, skiing, bicycling, and boating.
Lesha is dedicated to continuing professional education, to maintain knowledge and proficiency, knowing that there are constant improvements and changes in the medical field. Lesha will play many roles at Momentum Physical Therapy of Pueblo. She is thankful to be able to utilize many of her skills, and continue advocating for patients in the community of Pueblo.
Douglas Ashton, DPT
Doug grew up in Utah Valley with a love for sports. While in high school he participated in football and track and grew to love working out in the gym. After high school he began his career as a certified personal trainer and his passion for fitness and wellness has grown ever since. He graduated from Utah Valley university with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science in 2010 and that same year began physical therapy school.
Doug graduated from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2013. Due to his passion for fitness and wellness, Doug has continued to pursue his education studying manual therapy techniques, kinesiology taping and functional movement. For the past 14 years he has trained patients, athletes and general fitness clients specific ways to improve their health and physical performance. He enjoys being able to assist any individual to improve their life through healthy movement, nutrition and lifestyle management. Doug is married to his lovely wife, Andrea, and they have two children.
Katie Wahl, DPT
Katie grew up in Loveland and traveled to Virginia to complete her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She attended Liberty University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2014, and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Lynchburg College in 2017.
In high school, she went on many mission trips and fell in love with helping and serving people. These trips combined with her fascination of the human body set her on a path for physical therapy. She is very excited to be working with the community of Pueblo.
Katie loves being outside, riding horses, watching movies and TV shows, and hanging out with her family and friends.
Elizabeth Megenity, Front Desk
Elizabeth is a native of Pueblo, Colorado. She had the privilege of growing up within a military family and was able to visit, live, and experience a variety of different cultures. After many years away, she eventually found her way back to Pueblo to be with family. Elizabeth earned her Associates Degree in Psychology from Pueblo Community College – Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She plans on finishing her Bachelors in Arts for Counseling Psychology at University of Southern Colorado while also pursuing her other passion, Culinary Arts.
Working with people is another passion of Elizabeth’s. From her first job working with children to working at a community college, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, and now the front desk at a great Physical Therapy clinic. She looks forward to the many skills, experiences, and people she will to come to know during her time with Momentum.
Elizabeth enjoys spending time with friends and family, walking the River Walk, relaxing watching movies or the Food Network channel, and trying new recipes. “Whether it’s cooking or baking, being in the kitchen is the best stress reliever.”
Peggy Huerta, Front Desk
Peggy is a native of Colorado, born and raised in Trinidad.
We welcome her experience to our team after working with orthopedic specialists in Denver for over 23 years and four years at a therapy office in Rawlins, WY.
She is happy to be back home.
Peggy enjoys boating, camping, road trips, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Laura Lopez, PTA
Laura is a Pueblo native. While she was in college she worked as a rehab tech in a hospital. She Graduated from PCC in 2007 with her Physical Therapist Assistant degree. She worked in a hospital setting on the orthopedic unit for 11 years. She has also worked in Extended Care Facilities over the years.
Her hobbies include crochet, photography, and traveling. Laura is also bilingual fluently speaking Spanish.
She looks forward to helping her patients get back to a pain free lifestyle so they can enjoy all the things they love to do.
Sara Martinez, PTA
Sara was born in Gillette, WY and grew up in Pueblo. She graduated from Centennial High School, and PCC with an Associate of Science/Physical Therapy Assistant. She spent 12 years with Parkview Hospital in acute, sub-acute, and outpatient/aquatic settings, and 3 years working in neuro ICU with stroke, traumatic brain injury and trama patients.
Sara says, “I love helping people get back to doing the things they love and making people smile. I’m extremely excited to be a part of the Momentum team and continuing to grow in this profession I love!”
Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends and is a proud mom of three children.
Danni Sufian, PT Tech
Danni was born and raised in Pueblo and still has family here and is very family oriented. She first started her education in health care at Centennial High School where she participated in the Health Academy program. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion at Colorado State University-Pueblo. She plans on pursuing a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) followed by Physical Therapist (PT) degree in the upcoming years. Danni has worked with all ages of people, including the elderly population from her CNA work, and has loved every minute of it. She looks forward learning as much as she can while making it fun for her patients here at Momentum.
Danni holds a passion for dancing and has danced for longer than she can remember, making her always ready for a good song. She also enjoys just relaxing in the outdoors, even if it is just to watch the night sky.
Matt Cira, PT Tech
Matt was born and raised in Pueblo. His entire family lives in Pueblo and he is very grateful that everyone is in close proximity to one another. He graduated from Centennial High School and continued his education to earn a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from CSU-Pueblo in 2016. Matt has always chosen jobs that help the general public and is now excited to be working in the medical field, a goal he has had for many years. He is currently the trainer at Central High School and is looking forward to helping the Pueblo community at Momentum Physical Therapy.
Matt has a passion for anything and everything sports related, the great outdoors, and spending time with his friends.
